Macbook Duo is a Mac app that reads the notebook lid angle and lays Duo frost, an iris shutter, or a hanging landscape scroll across the desktop. Tune trigger sensitivity and when effects clear, and pause or resume from the menu bar.

The far edge of the screen dims while a crescent of frost rises from the bottom—like light falling from the lid.
Shutter blades close in from the edges. The aperture tracks the lid, and you can tune blade count, edge, and blur.
Closing the lid unrolls a hanging landscape from the top of the screen, complete with rods and scroll motion.
Set the trigger angle and how far the lid must travel for a full effect. Auto-clear when the screen is still, or keep it until the pointer moves.
The menu bar shows the current lid angle. Launch at login, and pause the desktop effect whenever you like.
